Story Time
Our story time goal is to help develop and nurture your child's love of books and the library.
We offer story time for toddlers, preschoolers and children of all ages. Children are introduced to literature through stories, songs, finger plays, and crafts. At story time children are invited to discover library services, enjoy visiting the library and introduce them to wonderful stories and help them develop a love of reading.
Story time sessions are as follows:
Preschoolers Story Time
Tuesday
10:00 am-10:30am 3 to 5 year olds.
Toddler Fun Time
Wednesday Thursday Mornings
11:15am-11:45am 12 months to 3 year olds
Family Story Time
Saturday, Afternoon
2:00pm-2:45pm
For children of all ages
All the children in story time sessions below the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
There is no registration necessary to participate.

Express yourself, Be creative!! Join us every Thursday from 4:00pm-4:45pm.

Nanny Search
Class Visits
The children are introduced to library collection, Dewey decimal classification system, tips on library skills, and how to care for library materials. Children are also able to see some of the new books from the library and hear about events that are taking place. Local Elementary and Preschools are welcome to visit the Public Library whenever it is convenient! Just call ahead and reserve a time for your class or group.
The children's librarian visits the Preschools and Headstart Program in Irvington throughout the school year. All visit must be scheduled ahead of time.
Game Day
Come and join us every Friday afternoon at 4:00pm-4:45pm for educational games: Uno, Checkers, Trouble, and many more.
